Our inaugural charity golf event took place on Saturday, July 25th, 2015 at Hawk's Landing Country Club in Southington, CT.  44 golfers took to the green bright and early for a cause dear and near to all of our hearts - DOGS! They came from as far away as Virginia, Massachusetts, NJ and some diners who joined us for the reception hailed all the way from Californ-i-a by way of New Hampshire! Thank you so much for spending the day with us. We could not have asked for a more perfect day!

Special guest of honor, TDR adoptable Zoey, was on hand all day to supervise, greet everyone, and show off her impeccable manners, all in the hope that someone would fall madly in love with her and adopt her. That didn't happen, but we're still hopeful that someone who did get to meet her and witness her joyful personality firsthand, will sing her praises and lead us to land Zoey a forever home of her own. Paws forever crossed.

This event would not be possible without the help of many, starting with Nick and his entire top-notch staff at Hawk's Landing Country Club. Thank you for allowing us to take over (on a Saturday no less), and for making sure everything ran smoothly. Still trying to figure out who invited Guy Fieri, though....

Special thanks to our sponsors: AMG Machine Repair, LLC, Thomaston FeedSuper Duper WeenieLupe's Drug Store No. 2, and Super Stan's Grandparents Rundle for signing up early and supporting us in presenting this fun event.

A very special shout out to Leona Gawreluk at Corporate Marketing for yet another fabulous job with our logo merchandise, the embroidered golf towels and golf polos were a hit!

Thanks to Joshua Ware of CT Golf Event Planner for bringing his Launcher to the course for some extra fun and serious yardage advantage. Check him out for all of your golf event planning needs.

The following companies donated goodies for our gift bags: Lola Granola/Enzo Bars, Chris Cote's Golf Shop/raffle prizes, Pepsi/water donation, Cigar Factory Outlet/raffle prize.  Lagunitas Brewing Company donated a wonderful gift pack, including a cool shirt that we raffled off with "guess how many tees in this jar and win this fabulous tee!"

And last but certainly not least, we cannot thank our volunteers enough, who worked tirelessly to plan and execute this event. Danielle can catch up on her sleep now, at least until next year when planning begins anew. Thanks to Krista and Chris for being our Jell-O Shots Queen and King, and Debbie, Emily, Kristen, Laura, Michelle, Sam, and Tracy for taking care of everything else. We are grateful to all who donated raffle prizes or helped in gathering raffle donations and recruited players for the event. It would not have been possible without everyone's help! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We hope everyone had fun and we look forward to seeing you all next year! If you have any nuggets of wisdom, comments and suggestions on how to make this event better, please drop us a line at contact@thankdogrescue.org. And please tag any photos you took with #parsforeTDR21015 so we can see.
